Longhouse Redmond | Redmond, WA

Longhouse Redmond is a 15 bedroom Residential Care Facility nestled into a wooded residential neighborhood. Not only does the design maintain most of the landmark trees on site, it also allows for a large stand of trees to remain. The building is designed with a central entry as a focal point, differentiated from the rest of the building both materially and spatially. Articulated by two wings that are separated by a 48' wide x 22’ deep landscaped courtyard, the length of the building is broken up into three distinct parts with a central arched brick covered entry extending into the courtyard,  flanked by landscaping on each side. A variety of social spaces are provided within the community to continue supporting each resident's daily activities, from a cozy Living Room complete with a stone fireplace to a Sunroom full of daylight and views out to the wooded area beyond an English garden.
